Is it time to panic? No, it's time to start spreading the word.

I know the price is down bad, but instead of viewing it as a setback, I see it as an opportunity for many to buy a legitimate Bitcoin fork for under $24.

Think about it. Would you rather be someone who bought BTC for $24 a coin or $100K a coin?

Of course, there's no guarantee that XEC will one day reach the market cap of BTC, but the risk-reward profile between the two isn't close. Let's imagine BTC and XEC as companies. Acquiring the same percentage of BTC's equity would be 4000x more expensive than acquiring the same percentage of XEC at the current price. Simultaneously, XEC's upside is probably 4000x higher than that of BTC.

But this post isn't about potential future returns—that will be a separate article. Today, we're discussing whether or not you should panic.

Considering XEC is back to levels not seen since 2023, I can understand why some may fear it's all over, but I have to say I'm surprisingly calm about the situation. (This may not be a good thing since it's usually only after I feel total despair that we reach the bottom, but perhaps this time it's different?)

I continue to be optimistic about the project because, other than the price, everything else is looking good. The number of transactions, the number of developers working on the protocol, and the total amount of staked XEC are all up.

Several new use cases or applications have also emerged, such as the XECx token, Agora.cash, and the PayButton paywall plugin you used to access this post.

Meanwhile, the team is still focused on building. Progress on the Avalanche pre-consensus hasn't stopped. The recent Trezor update now enables native XEC support on their device for the first time ever, and I'd venture to guess there are plenty of other behind-the-scenes developments currently being worked on that we don't know about.

So no, this is not the time to panic. It's time to be excited. I'm not even mad that the price of XEC is so low. I'd even say I'm genuinely happy to all who are being given this opportunity to grb some cheap eCash just as the pieces are finally starting to come together.
