Introducing the new ProofofWriting.com

Momento della lettura 2 minuti

When I first started this site, I had no idea what I was doing. It was the end of 2020, Bitcoin Cash had just split yet again, and the platform I used to write on had sided against Bitcoin ABC.

Then one night in late December, I decided that instead of continuing to write for someone else, I would create something of my own.

As someone with no background in computers, I did what I could. The site was minimalistic, to say the least, but all I wanted to do was have a place of my own where I could write down and publish my thoughts.

But what I didn’t know was that the service I was using limited me to a total of 100 webpages even though I was paying for it. At the rate I was going, I knew I’d hit that number in no time. I had no idea what I was going to do other than what I always did, which was procrastinate. I figured I’d deal with it as the 100 pages got closer, and it would all work itself out somehow.

Then one day I was talking to someone from the eCash community on Telegram and I mentioned all this and she kindly volunteered to help. She didn’t ask for anything in return, she just wanted to help.

So over the next couple of months she did exactly that. She even made it so I never had to give up my identity. She helped me sign up for a server, and then she designed this entire site while I provided the occasional feedback. Despite living in opposite time zones, and having a busy schedule of her own, she took the time to help me.

As a result, now it’s easier for me to post articles, for people to share my articles, for me to include pictures and videos, and of course, most importantly, I don’t have to worry about hitting that 100 page limit anymore.

I know this is just a blog, but I look forward to growing it and seeing how it evolves.

Of course I have no idea where this might lead, but all I know is that I want to keep writing for as long as I can, and share as much as I can, until one day, I reach the end of the line.

Anyway, I want to thank Alita Yin for all her help creating this site and send a message to everyone that anyone can contribute in their own way.

All you need to do is try.

Because even if you fail, you will have gained something from the experience, but you gain nothing by never trying at all.
