The kind of world I want to live in

In my last post, I wrote about why I value eCash. This time I’m going to write about what I see as the set of values that eCash represents for me.

I want to be clear that this is my opinion and mine alone. I’m not here to speak on anyone’s behalf, or force my values onto anyone else, because that to me would go against the core of the eCash value proposition.

In many ways, the eCash project is founded on the fundamental belief that everyone has the right to act in their own self-interest. Because rather than cave in to the demands of the majority, Bitcoin ABC stood against the majority and chose not to be afraid to do what they believed was best.

I’m glad because their choice gave me a choice. Rather than being forced to go with the mob, I had the opportunity to support people who I saw as holding the same values and goals I held.

First of all, they were honest. They weren’t perfect, they made mistakes, but they were honest about them.

Second, they were willing to do the work. They weren’t interested in taking the easy way out. Unlike so many others, they never made empty promises, or tried to fake it until they made it. The only thing they seemed to care about was accomplishing the mission of creating a new form of electronic cash that could change civilization as we know it.

I admit I have no idea if eCash is going to fix all our problems, but I do think it has the potential to create a great deal of change. Whether it’s for better or for worse only time will tell, but I obviously think it will be for the better.

Why?

Because the market is a reflection of our values.

To me that means that as market participants, each of us helps influence what gets produced in this world. Not only by spending our capital on the things we want, or by investing our time and money in that which we believe in, but by convincing others to do so as well.

Because I believe in the inherent goodness of people, and I believe that deep down, most of us understand right from wrong and have a desire to do what’s right, and support others who feel the same way. That’s why I believe in the future of the eCash project.

To me it’s not just an investment, it’s a choice.

By choosing to invest in people who are honest, intelligent, and hard-working, I believe it will result in producing more of those qualities in the world. And the more people we can convince to share those same values, the bigger the amplification of the signal.

I see every endeavor as an opportunity to make an impact on the world, and this project is no different.

I’m sorry to say this, but in my four years of being involved in crypto, what I’ve found is that the vast majority of coins and tokens are little better than ponzi schemes. Projects focused on solving the wrong problems, or not trying to solve any problem at all. Projects with no real vision, or talent, or community, just speculators looking to get rich quick before moving on with their lives.

But I believe that the eCash project is one of the few in the industry that has what it takes to make a difference in the world. Not only by making its supporters rich, but by allowing us to truly become wealthy.

Every day I’m faced with local news stories of people getting robbed, of having their homes broken into, or worse. In the past year we’ve faced unprecedented and alarming supply chain issues. Prices have been going up everywhere, not to mention the numbers of homeless people in cities all around the world.

Like I said, I have no idea if eCash can fix these problems, but what I do know is that something needs to change, and it needs to change quickly.

I believe that XEC might be the best chance we have because I believe it embodies the right values. Values like being honest, and being brave enough to fight for what you believe in, and having the freedom to stand as an individual rather than being forced to follow the crowd, and of course, proving your work.
